Engineering rigor meets product execution

Electronics + audio test engineer. Building scalable platforms, validation systems, and measurement-driven products.

Joshua Levy

Background

I'm an electronics and audio test engineer who leads test & validation and coordinates firmware/manufacturing workflows. My work sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and data—building systems that measure, validate, and scale.

Deeply process-oriented: I create PRD/FRD documents, define test methods with traceability matrices, and build tooling that bridges engineering and manufacturing. From audio analyzers to full-stack analytics platforms, I design systems that bring clarity to complexity.

Core Skills

Test Strategy & Validation

  • Structured test plans with clear pass/fail criteria
  • Requirements traceability (PRD/FRD → test cases)
  • Verification & validation methodologies
  • Audio test standards & conformance frameworks

Automation & Tooling

  • Python scripting for test automation
  • API integrations & data pipelines
  • CI/CD thinking for test infrastructure
  • Custom measurement & analysis tools

Hardware/Software Intersection

  • Firmware coordination & debugging support
  • Manufacturing liaison & build validation
  • Component change impact analysis
  • Hardware bring-up & system integration

Product Architecture

  • Systems thinking & modular design
  • Full-stack development (TypeScript, React, Node)
  • Database design & analytics systems
  • MVP → scale product roadmaps

Approach

I believe great engineering starts with clear requirements and disciplined execution. Every feature needs defined success criteria. Every test needs traceable requirements. Every system needs measurement.

I'm entrepreneurial—building multiple platforms in parallel (Lyceum, JoshuaOS) while maintaining rigor in my day work. I think in systems: how does this scale? What's the data model? What's the MVP vs. the ideal architecture?

Process matters, but so does pragmatism. I document thoroughly (Confluence, Jira, traceability matrices) but move fast when needed. I balance cost vs. coverage, ideal vs. minimum equipment, speed vs. thoroughness.

What I'm looking for

I'm open to collaboration on side projects, co-founder opportunities, and consulting work in test strategy, validation, and manufacturing quality systems.

If you're building hardware, need test infrastructure, or want someone who thinks in traceability matrices and data pipelines—let's talk.
